What’s Al Gore ever done to you?
Filed Under Al Gore | 16 Comments
Some answers in these pages show a contempt for Al Gore verging on hatred. I can only conclude that these people must have some personal reason for such impolite behaviour.
For those who may not remember the past few decades, let me remind you about some of the public record. Al Gore served in Congress, as a congressman and senator from Tennessee from 1977 to 1993. Among all American congressmen, he was among the greatest supporters of the early internet. His wife, Tipper, became notable for her campaign against obscenity in music recordings. From 1993 to January 2001, a period of relative prosperity and peace, Al Gore served as Vice President of the US. He was primarily concerned with efficiency in government and balancing the budget. He received a plurality of votes in the 2000 Presidential election. When the election results threatened to become a constitutional crisis, he conceded to George Bush. Are these the actions of a power-mad global warming conspirator?

Is Al Gore a big hypocrite?
Filed Under Al Gore | 22 Comments
After reading the following article in USA Today, it seems very clear that Al Gore is just talking the talk…
(excerpt):
Public records reveal that as Gore lectures Americans on excessive consumption, he and his wife Tipper live in two properties: a 10,000-square-foot, 20-room, eight-bathroom home in Nashville, and a 4,000-square-foot home in Arlington, Va. (He also has a third home in Carthage, Tenn.) For someone rallying the planet to pursue a path of extreme personal sacrifice, Gore requires little from himself.
Then there is the troubling matter of his energy use. In the Washington, D.C., area, utility companies offer wind energy as an alternative to traditional energy. In Nashville, similar programs exist. Utility customers must simply pay a few extra pennies per kilowatt hour, and they can continue living their carbon-neutral lifestyles knowing that they are supporting wind energy. Plenty of businesses and institutions have signed up. Even the Bush administration is using green energy for some federal office buildings, as are thousands of area residents.
But according to public records, there is no evidence that Gore has signed up to use green energy in either of his large residences. When contacted Wednesday, Gore’s office confirmed as much but said the Gores were looking into making the switch at both homes. Talk about inconvenient truths.

Does he want to save the planet with our helping him by sending money to his carbon coupon company that he founded and owns the majority of stock. Am I just not getting what a great man Al Gore is. What wrong with me not to get what all of you caring informed planet loving people seem to wake-up knowing, but small minds like mind simply can’t grasp. Help me to understand.

Is Al Gore more important than other people? Why does he get to pollute the environment more than others?
Filed Under Al Gore | 5 Comments
Al Gore gets to fly in a private jet and gets carted around in big cars. He pollutes more than 100 “regular” people. Is this a case of Liberal Elitism (Rosie O’Donnell is against gun ownership for ‘regular’ people, but her body guards are allowed to carry because she is important) or is this a case of the Al Gore ‘Destroying the World in order to Save it’?
Opinions?

I have heard a lot of people say they are going to write-in Al Gore as their choice for our next president. Reason: There is not another person running, dem or repub, with the experience or knowledge, to lead. If he is a write-in candidate, would it tip the scales of the election and cause us to end up with the worst possible choice ?

Not that I agree with everything Al Gore believes, just that in the last 8 years Bush has messed up everything in this country, and these days I don’t know anyone who can sit there and tell me Bush has done a good job.
Has Bush become the worst president in the United States History?
Republicans what do you think of John McCain’s voting records regarding spending and George Bush?

Al Gore will receive an honorary International Emmy award recognizing his role in launching the interactive Current TV channel.
The International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences said this week that it will present the award to the former vice president in a Nov. 19 ceremony in New York.
The Founders Award is presented to a person or organization “which crosses cultural boundaries to touch our common humanity,” academy president Bruce Paisner said in a statement.
I love it when people don’t agree, it gives me more reasons to explain my veiws and hopefuly change theirs.
